Recently, United States President Barack Obama proclaimed January as Human Trafficking Awareness month. In his statement released by the White House the President called upon all “businesses, national and community organizations, families, and all Americans to recognize the vital role we can play in ending all forms of slavery and to observe this month with appropriate programs and activities.”
This cause is at the heart of why Jo’el Worldwear exists and why we support artisans and fashion designer’s affected by such tragic circumstances. With January coming to a close, there is still much work to do. In this New Year we encourage all of you to support Anti-Human Trafficking organizations in your neighborhood. Together we can make a difference by shining a light in the dark and taking a stand for the voiceless.
